Damp proof
or water proofing Tunnel Linings?
Lining
a tunnel to prevent water ingress?
Solution:
Newton
System 500 has been used extensively to stop water
ingress in tunnels used by the London Underground System. By using
Newton 500, a dry-lined finish can be achieved in the tunnel. However,
if a rendered system is required, then Newton 500 Lath (with its built-in
mesh) is the membrane to be used. In both instances the membrane and
fixing plugs would need to be sealed with our bituminous rope or tape
and the joints over taped.
To comply with BS8102,
the depressurised Water being channelled behind the membrane can be
removed by the use of Newton Basedrain
incorporated at the wall/floor junction which acts as a collection
point for water which can then run to a natural drainage point or
to a Newton Titan sump/pump chamber.
