Damp
floor?
Need
a waterproof flooring membrane?
Need
to lay flooring finish before the underlying structure is dry?
Damp floors are the result of
many different factors, tears in the damp proof course, high humidity levels
in the building or increased water pressure on the structure.
Solution:
Where there is water ingress
then BBA certified Newton
System 500 should be used incorporating Newton
Basedrain and our Newton Titan pump range
(please see turning basements - cellars
into habitable rooms).
If no water penetration
is evident and the structure is above ground then the BBA certified
Newton Slim Line Flooring Membrane can
be used. This is a tough resistant membrane that allows damp to move
through the structure whilst giving a dry and slightly cushioned surface.
It has a greater capacity of vapour resistance than traditional damp
proofing membrane systems and can withstand scratches and grazes from
rough screed.
Screeded floors and many
newly built structures have variable drying times and it is difficult
to ascertain when they are completely dry to accept flooring finishes.
With Newton Slim Line flooring membrane the problem is eradicated
as the flooring membrane allows the screed beneath to achieve vapour
equalisation whilst allowing the floor finish to be laid directly
above it on a dry surface. The result is a dry floor with the added
benefits of giving good thermal and sound resistance.
