John Newton & Co Ltd continue to lead the way in the design and development of basement waterproofing products, systems and services based on the Cavity Drainage Membrane (CDM) principle of waterproofing. Newton System 500 CDM basement waterproofing products (incorporating Newton's Drainage Products) and Newton Geodrain are increasingly being specified to create BS8102 Compliant Systems:

• Basement waterproofing in newbuild construction.

• Basement waterproofing in existing building structures

• Waterproofing basements in either modern or period property. Low impact basement waterproofing ideal for listed buildings and period properties.

• Waterproofing solutions for underground structures or properties in areas subject to flooding.

John Newton & Co Ltd first developed Newtonite in the 1930's and then invented the first Cavity Drainage Membranes (CDMs) in the 1980's. The current internally fixed product for basement waterproofing and cellar waterproofing is Newton System 500 which incorporates Newton 500 CDM and Newton's Drainage Products. In new-build, Newton Geodrain is fixed to the external earth facing walls of the basement during construction. Newton's Drainage Products are used to collect and remove unwanted ground-water seepage from behind the membrane thus preventing the build up of hydrostatic pressure. Newton System 500 has a low impact on the existing structure and therefore Newton's products are often specified and used in the renovation and waterproofing of listed and period properties.
