SOLUTIONS:

Newton Slimline

Screed floors have variable drying times and it is difficult to ascertain when they are completely dry to accept flooring finishes. With Newton Slimline the problem is eradicated as the membrane allows the screed beneath to achieve vapour equalisation whilst allowing the required floor finish to be laid directly above it on a dry surface. The result is a dry floor giving good thermal and sound resistance.

This membrane is thicker than conventional DPMs and has the added advantage of being able to marry up to Newton Newlath 2000 & Newton System 500.

Newton Slimline is a tough resistant membrane that allows damp to move through the structure whilst giving a dry and slightly cushioned surface. It has a greater capacity of vapour resistance than traditional damp proofing membrane systems and can withstand scratches and grazes from rough screed.

Please Note: Newton 500 (8mm stud DPM) and Newton 520 (20mm stud DPM) can also be used as flooring membranes in situations where there is aggressive groundwater situations. Please see the flooring membranes section of our Product List and the Newton System 500 product information page.

Newton Slimline Flooring Membrane is used in:

  • New buildings to protect the flooring finish and the internal environment from damp, radon gas, acids and fungal deterioration.
  • Existing buildings when existing floors are to be refurbished protection from dampness, oil, asphalt, chemicals and gases is often needed and in many situations absolutely necessary*.

Our Newton Slimline Flooring Membrane is the ideal water and gas proof underlay for all types of self levelling screeds an other flooring materials, i.e. Particle Board, laminated and wooden flooring and particularly useful where existing problem floors are to be refurbished.

The Special Design makes Newton Slim Line Flooring easy to form. See our example in the picture install guide. Extra components for internal /external corners and long walls are unnecessary as they can be made quickly on site using the membrane in combination with Newton Sealing Tape, Newton Rope and Newton Mastic. This makes the Newton Slim Line Flooring membrane your complete solution for effective floor protection.
